Rejigg is an off-market marketplace that connects business owners directly with vetted buyers, and it is the right choice if you want to sell without paying a fee and are comfortable running buyer conversations yourself. Baton is the better fit for most Main Street and lower-middle-market sellers who want a dedicated advisor to run the sale from listing through close, for a fee they know up front: 6% at close, no retainer.

This comparison is for owners deciding how much of the sale to run themselves. Rejigg and Baton serve similar sellers (Rejigg says most of its businesses do $500K to $10M in revenue), and both let you test buyer interest privately. The differences are who pays and who runs the process, and we say where Rejigg is the better call.

What Rejigg is

  • Founded: 2022 in San Francisco, according to Caplight. Co-founders are Barrett Glasauer (CEO) and Alex Hinch.

  • Model: an off-market marketplace. Rejigg contacts owners directly and matches those open to a sale with vetted buyers. Brokers can also share deals they represent.

  • Size: 42 businesses sold for $149.9 million in total and 22,822 vetted buyers, according to Rejigg as of October 2026.

  • Owner pricing: free on the core platform. An optional hands-on service, Rejigg Assist, is quoted individually, with no published price.

  • Buyer pricing: free, $150 a month, or $3,000 to $5,000 a month by plan, as of October 2026, plus a Lehman-style success fee at close (5% of the first $1 million, 4% of the second, stepping down), halved on broker-listed businesses.

  • Funding and reviews: a 2023 seed round including Bow Capital, per Caplight, and a 4.6 TrustScore from 74 reviews on Trustpilot as of October 2026.

Where the difference shows up

On paper, Rejigg costs the owner less. On a $1.5 million sale, Baton’s 6% success fee is $90,000. On Rejigg’s core platform the owner pays nothing, and the buyer pays Rejigg $70,000 (5% of the first $1 million plus 4% of the next $500,000). Rejigg’s owner terms require that fee to be written into the closing documents, so it is part of your deal even though it does not come out of your proceeds.

That fee still lands on your deal. The buyer pays it in cash at closing, on top of their down payment, and buyer-side fees often can’t be rolled into the acquisition loan the way the purchase price can. Buyers budget for it, so a $70,000 buyer fee tends to come back to you as a lower offer. A seller-paid fee like Baton’s is paid out of the sale proceeds, so buyers can put their full budget, and their financing, toward your price.

The bigger difference is who runs the sale. Rejigg does not assign an advisor on its core platform. Its free plan screens buyers and provides NDAs, a data room, and deal tools, but you run the buyer conversations yourself. Rejigg Assist adds a CIM, outreach, and conversation management at a price quoted individually. Baton’s 6% includes a dedicated advisor who prepares your marketing materials and data room, contacts strategic buyers, helps buyers line up SBA and bank financing, negotiates with you through the LOI, and manages diligence through close.

Reach and commitment differ too. Baton lists on major business-for-sale sites as well as its own, reaches out to strategic acquirers, and pre-qualifies buyers for SBA and bank financing. Rejigg asks for no exclusivity. Baton’s Seller Plan is a three-month exclusive, then month to month.

Which should you use?

Choose Rejigg if you want to pay no seller fee, you are comfortable negotiating and managing diligence with your own attorney and accountant, and you want no exclusivity. It can also add buyers if you already have a broker.

Choose Baton if you want one advisor accountable from listing to close, a fee you know before you start, and buyers from beyond a single platform. You can still test the market privately for free first.
